The images were definitely clearer as though you were there, but the problem was that they had obviously played with the image. Almost like how you can tell something is 'not quite right' in a photoshopped pic where the pic has been edited to pull the foreground and background images farther away in an effort to put more emphasis on the main subject of the photo.

Some of the scenes, particularly the opening part with the hummers, were so edited that it didn't even look real.
What model TV? I can tell you from personal experience that if it's a high end TV pay for professional calibration. We have 2 LN46a850's on display at work. One calibrated and one left at stock settings. It's like night and day. Crisper picture, better colors, etc.

You've listed some amazing movies there to say the least! I still consider Terminator 2 to be my favorite movie from any genre. The Dark Knight fits into my top pics quite easily too. I for one have always loved Batman: the super-hero without super-powers. I think Nolan, with the inspiration of some of the best Batman graphic novels put out in the 60+year existence of the character, has brought the best Batman translation to the screen so far. Burton was good but Nolan is better.

There's so much in the Dark Knight that was done well. The inner struggle and deep emotional pain of Bruce Wayne, Harvey Dent's fall from grace into a superbly complex villain, the Joker's insanity finally realized, and the nervous leadership of a somewhat vulnerable Commissioner Gordon.

Maybe it's our addiction to reality that fueled it but I also enjoyed how Nolan brought as Batman as he may really exist in our world. Why the bat theme? Why become the caped crusader anyway? How could a man actually pull this off without being caught?

Finally, Ledger delivered one hell of a performance. It's unfortunate that his death has affected people's opinion of his performance; whether it be sympathetic and too lenient or overcompensating and too cynical.

Needless to say for those that haven't seen it yet: GET IT AND WATCH IT!

Just an aside, but Tim Burton's really starting to bug me. I don't know who "appointed" him the remaker of classic things, but Planet of the Apes (horrible), Willy Wonka (didn't bother), and now Alice in Wonderland (low expectations) is annoying to me and a bit much.

The best bit about the film was that it generated about 90% of the costumes for Halloween 2008

I liked it, much better than batman begins.
