Acronis Echo work station with universal restore. Expensive but worth it.

You can install DIXML on a BartPE disc, and run it from there.

It's gotten better, Acronis now makes a bootable USB key, and can load the image from any drive, even over an FTP connection.

I use a program from maxtor called max blast 5, its great if you have a maxtor or seagate drive. They are perfect clones. There's also one from WD called data lifeguard, its pretty good too. But its for wd drives. These both work great as long as at least one drive is the right one. Theres an other program I use that works with all the drives, called X CLONE, this one works on all drives, its a lot slower than the others, but it also works great. Thats exactly what I do, its faster and easier to re do the drive than try to fix it usually, Max blast 5 takes about 10 minutes to clone 15 gb's. Hope this helps .

I use Acronis 10 and as near as I can tell, you can't create an image of a drive onto itself. I back up my 160GB to my 250GB.

I've used it many times when I get in a "jam". Very intuitive, and it saves A LOT of time.
