Upgrading my loop

Thread Starter
Hey Everyone,

About 6 months ago I switched to watercooling and I have loved it ever since. Unfortunately things have been crazy at work and I have not been able to put the finishing touches to this project. The good news is I have some money to improve upon my current build and add my GPU to my loop. My GPU (Nvidia 8800GTS) is still using the stock air cooler and I want to switch it to water. I have a 240 GTX radiator that is cooling only my CPU at the moment. Would adding an addition 240 GTX to my loop be good enough to cool both CPU and GPU? Or would a 360 (480?) radiator be better.

My thinking is....Res->Pump->Rad1->CPU->Rad2->GPU->Res. My pump is a MCP655. Will I need to add an addition pump if this setup works?

And my last question is, I have a Antec P182 and I am really stumped as to where I can put a second rad. At the moment my rad is mounted on the back of the case with a swiftech bracket.

Any suggestions would be awesome.

Thanks,
V

My current setup looks like this. As you can see, unfinished.

You don't need another rad. Your current one can handle adding the gpu.

it'll go up a bit as it is a 240 rad. but it shouldn't be that bad. maybe a couple of Cs and thats it.

shouldnt see a drastic change in temps but if you are ocing anytime soon if your upgrading might as well through in that 2nd radiator. imo i owuld clean up the wires a little bit cause i have noticed with wc systems its a pain in the arse to work with when you have wires in the way.

Awesome thanks for the tips. In terms of OCing, the CPU has been OC'd slightly but I do not plan on OCing the GPU. The computer is going to be torn down as I plan on painting the inside and over a full case mod project. So those wires will be dealt with. Thanks again!

Just something I want to do.

Question about the DD Full coverage blocks. Are they made of cooper? I was looking at the EK blocks but the site said it was made of aluminum. Anyone have any insight on this.

They're made of copper. http://www.dangerden.com/store/produ...48&page=1#tabs I didn't think EK used aluminum. I browsed through their whole blocks section and they only used nickle and copper. No alu.
