Here's a cool article that compares a lot of quads.

Some important info for gaming (That's what I look at the most )

You see some improvement with the q9550 over the q9450 but very little or no difference between the q9550 and the qx9650. I personally would suggest the 9550 for gaming, but some other opinions on this would be great.

q9550 ebay buy it now $299 shipped
q9550 $310 shipped super biiz

I'd say get a q9550 off newegg because most people have been getting E0 stepping ones.

*** why did you sell it then?

if it were me, i'd have bought one of gigabyte's UD3P boards and dropped your existing 9450 in.

if you are dead set on socket 775, put an old chip in your system for now, and wait for the 65w tdp q9550 in january. additionally, the UD3 board that i mentioned above will allow that chip to go as far as it can.

How did you manage to get a 537 FSB OC with a quad on your DS3L?

I would recommend getting a Q9550 E0.
