HTPC software + server 03 = fail

Thread Starter
Good morning all, I started on my HTPC server to PS3 project last night. I ran into a little issue, I was running tversity withen a test VM image and everything was dandy. Video streamed to my PS3 via wired network.

I then went and installed tversity onto my "host" OS, server 2003 enterprise x64, this is when things went downhill. Tversity was config'd the same way as in the VM image, but now the video is very slow and choppy.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be. Also, I am not nailed down to Tversity, if there was another application like tversity, that works on server 03, I am all ears.

PS, I am a noob at this

Cheers,

Bryan

Are you using a single HDD for media only that is formatted in 64k Clusters? If not you may want to try that.

Negative, they are 2x 750gb drives (soon to be 4 or 5) in a raid array. Either way, it works fine within the VM image. I just need to wait for PS3 to support the MKV file type.

I highly doubt that will ever happen, though I would really like to see it.

If you really want .mkv support, get a Popcorn Hour.

I really do want MKV video on my TV, but on the flip side I also want everything to be steamlined so I don't have to move files around. I just want the set it and forget it type of setup.

I guess we can all dream.
