Your first ever PC - Page 9

My dad bought a Dell XPS 500, P3 500 mhz, for around $2,000 when it brand new. I got his old tower, about 3 feet high, 5-1/2 floppy drive, fans like turbines. I was too young to know what it was, but it was running Windows 95 and was on its last leg. It was great.

My first (well, family) PC was out of a skip, only spec I remember was it was a 286 with Win 95 on (this was in summer 98). Nothing else was with it, only a floppy drive, when we got a CD drive it was like some voodoo lol

First build was a AMD 3000+, 1GB RAM, 60GB HDD & nvidia 5600 on some cheap generic mobo

An HP...something...with a 533 MHz Celeron and a 40 GB HDD...with Windows 98 SE!

And now my 9600GT has a faster core clock than that. Sheesh.

I had a Macintosh Plus in 1986. Cost me $2000 back then. That's probably like $6K now. My first non Mac was a 486/33 with 4MB of RAM. It was a monster back then.
