Mid tower vs. Full need opinion - Page 2

Thread Starter
Thanks for the insight. I think I'm going to try a mid tower. If it doesn't work well I can always purchase a full tower down the road.

A lot of mid-towers these days are actually fairly large. You'll have plenty of room to do what you need.

I have the Antec Sonata III. Its a mid tower case. It fits my needs and keeps things very cool and quiet..

although I did mod it. 120mm fans on the side panel and one on the top of the case for a top blow hole.

Coming from a guy that owns a full tower, go mid. This thing is too big to take anywhere, i dont come close to using all of the room, and i dont have enough money to water cool it. I can see where it would be nice, but for your build, mid tower.

Full towers are great as long as you are willing to pay a little more to get a lighter high quality aluminum one. Also yes the Rocketfish stock cooling sucks but if you mod it and have 6 88cfm yateloons then well it has great aircooling .

Listen to the people who have done it and regretted it. They're trying to stop you from making the mistakes they've made. +REP on this.

For what you are doing since you don't plan to over clock, I dunno how much hardware you will be using but sounds like I would use a mid tower if I was gonna do what you plan to do. I think a antec 900 will suit you.. I used to have the antec 900 but I changed to the antec 1200 hundred cuz I plan to do tri-sli and water cooling in a year less.. so I wanted a full tower if I wasn't gonna go that route i would of stayed with the antec 900 for sure well good luck!

Mine had a SLi setup in it and it worked fine, it's probably the fans you're using.

Its simple $100 = great mid tower or cheapo full tower (unless you can find a Rocketfish).

Don't get the Sonata III, thermals suck and you can't open the left side of the case.
