Topless Opty 165, MSI K8NGM2

Thread Starter
First, an IHSless (for maximum cooling) opteron 165... 8 hours orthos stable, but can't tell what the maximum OC is due to motherboard and ram limitations... will come with a shaved down 939 retention bracket for proper heatsink contact upon request (not really needed if you have a HSF with bolt through retention)

Secondly, a 939 MSI K8NGM2... great features and a decent OCer...
To save myself time, the info on the motherboard can be seen here:

LMK what you guys think they're worth and TY in advance

I say 70 for the CPU, and like 50 bucks for the mobo.

Those are ebay prices, I paid $75 for an Opteron 175 and since it has been delidded you have to modify your motherboard to get a cooler to fit, maybe $55 or $60 shipped

check out my OP... I said I would provide a shaven-down retention bracket for those that wish to use non-bolt through HSFs

What about the mobo btw?

But certain S939 motherboards require more intensive modifications for the mod, if someone is looking for a delidded Opty this is a great deal, then they don't have to risk damaging it during the delidding process

I really don't know about the motherboard, it could fetch $100 on ebay but I don't think there is a big S939 following here on OCN

40 bucks for that mobo because that's the standard price on 939 mobos these days. Unfortunately, the 939 duals are so much more expensive. I'm contemplating a sale of my Opty 165 soon as well...
