Looking for an external HDD.

What is a good external hdd that I can get for like $10 or something and like 7200rpm. I want like 40-160gb storage. Give me a harddrive and I'll see on ebay how much it's worth cuz it can be cheaper there. It can be worth more than 10 it just depends on the ebay prices.

Good luck my friend. $10 is asking a lot considering they don't even make external hard drives smaller than 160GB from what I know and even those are hard to find. 250GB are more likely. Here is a link on the Egg for the $25-$50 price range. For what it is worth make sure the supplier on ebay has a good reputation as returns/warranties are much harder to deal with or non-existent. Hope that helps.

You might be able to find an empty external enclosure for less then $20:

Find one and throw in an extra HDD you have lying around.

The exteranl HDDs are just an enclosure that adapts the standard IDE or SATA connector of a standard hard drive to USB. So all the external HDDs are just a desktop/laptop HDD (some are even built around the 1.8" HDDs) in an enclosure.

Here is an example of an enclosure without the HDD. You can see were the HDD connects:

To answer your question, no........... it is not a good seek time. Then again I believe in less than 5.5ms seek time and it has a seek time of 9. But, you get what you pay for.
