Yes I did update my drivers.

I guess that's what we get for d/ling beta drivers from nvidia. (EDIT) note that nvidia and x-fi cards used to give each other big problems and they'd toss blame around quite a lot.

My problem seems to have amplified itself but later I might try using drivercleaner to remove all traces of 180 beta from nvidia, uninstalling again and trying it out. Problem is now at the point when I turn the comp on rather than when windows starts so.... yeah... ((EDIT) might have abused an already touchy card in my frustration, i dunno)

Let me know if you feel like trying that and it works for you.

you either need a new card, or some hacked drivers....

EDIT: Vista 64-bit and X-fi DO NOT WORK TOGETHER
People who are on x64 Vista with working XtremeGamer cards would beg to differ.

1. How did you get sound to work?
2. Go to creative console launcher. toy around in there w/ settings, you'll see being able to switch between microphone and other input, etc.

would give direct directions but i don't have a working xtrememusic to enter creative console launcher with

Do you use the front panel connector? Make sure it's not badly connected to the card. Also, reseat the card just to be sure. Completely uninstall your drivers before re-installing and see if it makes a difference.

For your mic: Be sure to go in both the card's control panel AND Windows' mixer and check if everything's at 100%

Go find a bridge you troll

Everything works fine for me, and I'm on 64bit

I agree, I'm using an XtremeGamer, EVERYTHING works fine.

Go to Control Panel > Sound > Recording Tab > Click on your microphone > Levels set to 100 > Check the box on Custom tab if you still can't hear it

I was never able to use my XtremeGamer with my system. I could never get sound to come out. I used the most updated drivers from Creative, but I still don't know what the deal is.
