Distraught Over Xtrememusic

Thread Starter
Bought an xtrememusic from fellow oc'er a while back.

It's always been a bit shaky; even after the new drivers solved vista problems, when I bumped into my computer desk the sound went out and I had to restart.

Then yesterday I had problems getting it to work, it wouldn't even become recognized, started saying it had resource conflicts, and after I uninstalled it completely my computer won't start up correctly if it's in - the vid card (8600 gt) won't turn the monitor on and hitting the power button won't auto-off as it would normally during the first few seconds of startup, have to hold it.

On top of that, if I hold the corner of it down (put my finger on the corner and press down) everything turns on fine but nothing even detects that there's something in the pci slot.

I've moved it around pci slots, i've cleaned all drivers, uninstalled both vid and sound, disabled onboard sound, enabled onboard sound, reset BIOS so irq settings would reallocate, turned various irq settings to reserved to force different irq values, plugged in the extra power cord (floppy) various times, etc. etc. etc.

Plugged it in to my 5-year-old dell it is detected as normal!!!
Plugged in my 5-year-old live! card to my new comp, detected as normal!!!

And I look at the recommended vid cards around here and everyone's still talking about how people should buy xtrememusic, so it's not like it'd force me to get a better sound card, it's already damn good - i love its sound quality.

Any ideas left? I want to throw my computer off a bridge. (edited - sorry I can have a black sense of humor, I'm totally mentally stable)
