4870 1GB Vmod

Thread Starter
I was getting tired of not being able to get a very good over clock on my video card. After Vmodding my 8800GTS successfully, I felt that I needed to do it again on this card. Took about 2 hours to get all of the wires fully soldered and glued for reinforcement. I am still testing it and so for I am up to 825MHz from 750MHz @ 1.360v. I plan to push it to at least 850MHz.

+rep

That's pretty sweet. You should try to get some wc on there and really crank it up :-)

looks good. With 1.35-1.4 you should be able to hit 860-900mhz stable.

WTB instructions :-) What ohm pots are you using there? I also think that the two 6 pin pci-e are capable of the extra load with a good PS.

Edit: I see you used the molex as a test point.... Ignore my pci-e comment :-)

I actually did this from here

http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/...voltmods/153/1

I gave me all the necessary information and so far, im up to 840MHz @1.4.

I though 4870 can OC better. My 4850 can do 840 core with 1.33 volts. Also try games for stability like Crysis. Ati tools fails sometimes.
