What TV should I get!?

Thread Starter
Ok, well I am saving up to buy myself a sweet TV.

I am torn right now.

Looking to spend right around $900-$1500.

I am craving Blu Ray.

So should I get plasma or LCD? And what brand.

Philips 52"

Toshiba Regza 46"

Sceptre 46"

65" Sharp aqous lol 3500 dollars

That Sceptre is a damn good deal! Can anyone tell me how fluid the movement will be, I don't know much about the ratios, and response times.

There is a lot of rep for me to give to helpful people, so.. what are you waiting for, help me.

Personally I like LCD better than plasma. I like the bright picture. Get like a 42"-52" Samsung. Samsung HDTVs are really nice.

I just picked up an Samsung LN46A550, best purchase I've made in a long time. You can get them for around 1200, and it's a great television. I definitely recommend Samsung LCDs.

LCD are for fast moving pictures like games and stuff but Plasmas are better for watching sports. I personally will go with LCD.

Agree.

personally, I prefer the panasonic 8 series over any other TV.

Only thing is, it's not a good idea to hook a computer up to them, as they can burn-in. Plasma will also be cheaper than an equivalent LCD.

LCD - Go for Samsung A550 series or A630 series - Samsung LCD's are untouched in quality compared to others IMO. I worked at Best Buy and our number 1 selling LCD TVs were Samsungs by a lot. I rarely saw them being returned(i worked at customer service). I own 4 samsung tv's, 4 samsung lcd monitors. I got a 40" samsung lcd 530 in my room and love it. I got a 42" samsung 720p plasma from a yaer ago and still love it. also got a 32" in my parents room and a 19" in the kitchen.

If you go plasma get a panasonic, they are awesome and very affordable.

lcd's are better if you are planing on using an HTPC ever, or if it will be in a bright room.
Plasma's are better for black levels (i.e. movies and some games) and can display very vivid and deep colors, but lcd's have gotten a lot better so they are still good.
