I am not to familiar with the new settings in the cpu and ram sections of bios, right now i have qpi at the 6.4 setting, ram setting xmp uncore auto, 1.6 V to RAM, stock volts to cpu currently at 3.5 idles of 22-27 loads 35-45, cpu multi 20 all prefetchers, virt, cstate etc, disable, allcores on, HT on.

orthos just ran for about 5 mins and fatal errored out. i didnt get time to see what it said before it closed out. i guess i will start out by decreasing ram volts. help?

why would you decrease ram volts? if orthos errored out, its likely that the cpu is not getting enough volts. i wouldn't touch the ram volts, and start out by increasing cpu voltage by small increments until orthos is stable for at least 5 hours.

HA! I just ran across the term today, it's called ripple and it's currently my research topic-du-jour because I seem to have a "slight" case of it on my rig and it's consistent both at stock and overclocked configurations. Harrumpph... OCCT says I'm stable after two hours but with those huge swings it just seems _concerning_

Anyways, here's an example of ripple looks like on a graph...

2.4Ghz @ 266Mhz (Stock Config)

3.0Ghz @ 333FSB (25% Overclock)

with the new i7 people have been having luck with 19x and 21x multiplier. You may want to try that first. Basically dont mess with the memory volts because it should be unlinked, this will make it so your memory is not effected much by the change in fsb. Basically with a 21x or 19x find a stable fsb for it. Slightly bump the fsb up by 5 each time because of the high multiplier. Once you hit instability in orthos prime 95 or occt, raise the vcore ever so slightly. Eventually with good cooling you may hit upper 3's
