ntldr error after formatting a partition

Thread Starter
My hard drive is made up of two partitions: One with windows xp pro and the other with windows vista ultimate. After a while I decided to format the partition with windows xp. When I formated the partition and the computer restarted I recieved a "NTLDR is missing" message. What is the problem?

It's possible that if you had a boot loader installed (this included the basic one included with xp and vista for multiple installations), you could of corrupted it by formatting XP.

You might have to reinstall both XP and vista, or try a repair of them.

I don't need windows xp any more. I formatted it to later add the unallocated space to the vista partition.

Then you might have to wipe Vista to fix it.

Did you try a repair of vista through boot?
