Well my Corsair went out about 2 months ago and I bought a little Silverstone to replace it and was to lazy to RMA the Corsair, then the Silverstone died, I wasn't expecting it to die that fast....It must of been a bad one to go out that fast.

Hey I appreciate it, if it takes to long I'll just buy another one i guess, its good to have spares on hand anyway.

A lot of guys are hitting way over a 600 with the P45 DK fairly easily, the only thing I don't like about them is the soldered in bios chip. I'll probably just use the P45 for dice and my P35 for TEC.

I think there was a guy at XS who got to 680 with this board, do you by any chance have the PLL code thing for setfsb for the P35 board?

I like having spare PSU's for that reason, I am surprised that a silverstone died that quickly though, I am having good luck with my Antec right now and want to keep it that way. For a starting build I don't think I need more than the P35 right now anyway

EDIT> and what part of Arkansas are you from? I am going down to the Little Rock, Memphis, Fort Smith, and Jonesboro areas this Christmas.

No I never could get SetFSB or ClockGen to work on the P35. This DFI Dk P45 for SetFSB is ICS9LPRS918JKL.

I live out west of Hot Springs in the mountains...

That Silverstone was just a bad one to have gone out that fast, all electronics have a certain % that die early deaths like that, it was just me bad luck to get one..

then maybe it would be prudent to get the P45 instead of the P35, grrr too many decisions!! I have until Tuesday to decide I guess, both are great boards.

I'd go with a P45, its a little better board, or at least its supposed to be..

I am considering grabbing a Q6600 and a 4670 and going after the 3dmark06 record with the 4670 single card

Sounds like a plan. Your going to miss out on the E8600 though, its going to be one of the legendary chips like the 146 Opty....They kind of remind me of a Opty really, run cool and are OC monsters, I love them.

I might grab an E8600 too, I hate having a lump sum of money, I have no idea what I might do with it and a newegg shopping cart!

I think a Q6600 at 4.3ghz and a 4670 should get me at least 11k and the record right now is 105xx

I already have, 6GB of ram along with a decent motherboard and the i7 920 processor is over a grand. Not worth it IMO, when prices fall I might consider it but they have a TDP limiting overclocking. The highest OC so far I think is like 4.8ghz and that was on LN2 I believe.

An E8600, DFI P45 motherboard and 4GB of good ram and I am only looking at around $550 and can get to 5ghz pretty easily.

I am considering getting something like that for my bench setup and then something like a P35 with an E7300 for everyday use
