Before I chose a motherboard..

Thread Starter
I'm not planning to do dual graphics cards and I can't decide weather to get this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128359 or this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128358 . Well the thing I need to know is what is dual lan used for? And then I can make my choice. Or you can help me make a choice with another motherboard, but these are very reliable ones to me though and have a lot of overclocking features in their bios. And wonder if these will fit in them http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835154001, http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.148412 . and a gtx 260 and corsair ram with those long heatsinks.

If all you are ever going to do is connect your modem/router directly to your comp, you have no reason to worry about the dual lan connectors. 10/100/1000 is more important, which everything is these days.

The tuniq should have no problem working with either one of those mobo's.

Can I still add a chipset that will make a dual lan like another lan chipset and it becomes dual though? But what are dual lan connectors used for? Thanks. Peace.

If no Xfire then you can use the UD3R the P mainly only has Xfire as a difference.

If you can afford it just get the P version, that way you get all it the EP45 UD3 benefits on one board.

xfire is ATI's version of SLI. It is for multi-graphics card setups.

No yo can not add Crossfire to the UD3R. I am referring to using two ATI video cards on one motherboard. You cannot add another chipset to make it dual lan, but you can add a PCI lan card. I am not sure what two eithernet ports are for as I have always used just one.

Not sure about the ud3r but Its probably the same as the UD3p and I know the tuniq will not fit without cutting off part of the mounting bracket with a dremel or something, its a part that sticks out on both sides of the bracket for amd installation.

Heres a link
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...ler%2fHeatsink

See the silver bracket, at the top and bottom of it in that pic where the metal curves out, you have to dremel that to be even with the rest of it.
