Creative front bay question

Hey,
Ive been thinking to buy a new sound card with them front bay things that pop into the front, but im curious to how they work. I use my headphones a lot, if sounds is playing and I plug my headphones into the bay, this will cause my speakers to mute right? I understand the speakers are plugged into the back of the sound card, and the headphones go into the bay. Which takes priority

Many thanks

the front panel audio degrades audio quality is a waste of money, just buy a plantronics switcher in my opinion.

and if i remeber correctly you can set it to output to all of the jacks, such as the sound cards 3.5mm and the front panel audio.

The thing is, Ive got creative 7.1 speakers, and they have a headphone jack on the volume controller, but now that is broke. Where would the headphones plug into with te plantronics switcher?
