MA790GP-DS4H crossfire question.

Thread Starter
i was thinking of selling the 9800gtx and going crossfire with 2 4830's. now if i do that, the pci-e's will run in 8x. just wondering how much of a bottle neck would there be if i done this? also do you have to instal the ccc program or can i just install the drivers. i donot like the ccc program. i am one of those people who, if its there it needs to be tinkered with.

thanks all useful infromation will be rewarded. links would be a pluss that help with questions.

For those cards, probably not, if just a little, but hey, those things are cheap and can outperform a gtx 280 so go for it.

Running them in 8x PCI-E 2.0 will only lose you 1-2% if that of performance, negligible to say the least.

And you don't "have" to install the CCC, you can try using ATItraytools or something, but you might have problems getting them to run in crossfire without it.

Unfortunetly I couldnt find any info on how to enable crossfire without the CCC. With just one card you dont have to download the CCC but with 2 you need it to enable crossfire.

If you want to see how you're 4830s may stack up,
