Problem with Crysis + Catalyst A.I. - Page 2

True, true...Crysis isn't really that important to myself as a game. It's more of a way for me to compare performance with my friend, and for my card to get a lower min FPS than its 4870 1GB counterpart just doesn't sit well with me for some reason.

Wouldn't worry about it. Compare the peformance of any other game and see the difference. At least you can compare your Vantage scores.

And don't forget that at highest of resolutions with all aa, af etc. and whatever on for your eye candy is maxed out you'll feel the real difference of your 4870x2. You are making your match with your friend in a zone where a single 4870 can also win it. Up your res to 1920 and max everything out then everyone will see what happens. Not to underestimate the single 4870's. It is also a strong card. I am very happy with my single 512mb 4870.

But 4870x2 is the best for now and really futureproof until anyone else makes something better.

So you should just not worry about it. I strongly believe that you have a card that can eat any game for breakfast that will be coming up in next 5 years. Just enjoy it. You have one of the most well engineered piece of hardware out there.

Heh, thank you for the vote of confidence. I'll be sure to do that then. I did notice now that my card does score a lot better than the 4870 1GB once the resolution kicks up. I suppose Crossfire really does have significant CPU overhead that's noticeable on lower resolutions.

Thanks again! +Rep.
