Could my RAM be causing it? - Page 2

No it only freezes sometimes. All of the crashes except for one happened when I was using Firefox. The other time when it crashed was when I didn't have firefox open and I was just doing stuff on my desktop. I don't know if it would happen while gaming or with another internet browser, but so far I haven't got it.

Like I said, after 50 min my RAM failed Orthos. I'll try the test again but with stock speeds.

Sounds to me like a virus or other software error more than a hardware error. Your memory should be able to run those speeds and timings no problem, and if it passed memtest86 it should be fine.

i know youre having alot of problem but try running your ram @1.9 or 2.1v its either latency or core speed... are you sure that your cpu is not to blame? why are you running your gpu card @ 100% all the time? you can turn it down to 50% if youre sleeping because you are not using your gpu that much probably using like 1/4 of its power even less have you clock down your cpu yet? use OCCT see if your setup can do it... right now my suggestion is reset cmos and retest your cpu motherboard and memories max limit... its tedious but hey its fun... if a 2.7 dual core can beat a quad core performance something is wrong with your setup its not all about Mhz its about stability youll score better and get better fps/ ping with a stable setup than a higher clock that is not stable at all... OCCT can get results faster than orthos...

Ok I'll try at a lower voltage. I ran 8 hours straight of CPU test for orthos though and no error so I think it's stable. I can't adjust my fan speed during start up and it's 100% then. I'll try OCCT or something. I'll run orthos at stable settings and see if it works.

Thanks for the post.
