I have both consoles, and after we got bored with Halo 3 my 360 has just been collecting dust. I couldn't ever go back to DVDs from Blu. But I think the PS3 vs 360 war is much like any controversial topic. Everyone has their beliefs and no matter what rational argument the other side has, no one will listen.
Here's my opinion:
360 - Great if you're a hardcore gamer or looking to cheaply enter the game market, but pay out over time to get accessories.
PS3 -Great if you have a good theater setup and looking to max out the money you've spent on your TV and audio system, or if you're looking for a more unique game market.
I mean lets be honest, the PS3 exclusive titles are very unique (LBP, Warhawk, MGS), and its hardware is far superior (7.1 PCM surround, vs the standard Dolby Digital 5.1 on the 360). But the 360 has a much better online service which is also augmented by the large population of players on it. The upfront price is also much easier on the wallet, but if you are looking to use a lot of add-ons, the PS3 could be the cheaper route. The 360 also has very good first party games (Halo, GoW) but from what I've seen most games you will encounter are good ol' shooter games.
Winner? Xbox 360 and PS3
