Well considering that triple channel is almost a must for i7, 3GB sets are what most i7 customers will buy. What about the people who do not want to shell out for 3GB, and maybe they just want 2GB? They have to settle with non-triple channel?
On top of that 3GB sets are still more expensive than 2GB DDR3 sets.
And even with this upgrade, the AM3 motherboards will not be as expensive as the X58's. When the 790GX and FX's were released, they were not as expensive as the X38/48's at release, not even close.Edited by Slappa - 12/14/08 at 7:45pm
