Quick Question

Well I'm patiently waiting for my new rig parts to get here (should be wed/thurs) so im cleaning off the ol' 88GTS's to put in it and i had a quick question

Is it safe to put AS5 on the vram? on my XFX card the thermal tape barely covers the IC's and on the EVGA there are a few pads with almost no contact, theyve been running fine but i reckon some better volt reg / ram cooling would make them more stable. (thermal tape, being the stock tape that was on the cards, I never put tape on them before, just AS5 on the dies)

As for the GPU cores themselves, they are ready for a new AS5 application

EDIT: and how conductive can AS5 become / how can it become conductive? because there is a little AS5 on the PCB next to the GPU and i cant get it off for fear of breaking the tiny caps, but its touching a few contacts on the caps, and has been i guess (was there before i tried cleaning them). I think it oozed from the GPU as they got heated up

Try Isoprophil Alcohol 90% to clean cooling paste off parts. About the conductivity of this Arctic Silver 5. I found this artical

Coollaboratory Liquid Pro 9 times better at conducting heat than arctic silver 5

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok to put it very short (and sorry thast the link is in german, get a translator ) they thested arctic silver pro which has 9,2/Wm2k which is a quite good paste... well in they also showed a newheat conducting paste called Coollaboratory Liquid Pro 82W/m2K which conducts the heat ca. 9 times better.... yes, thats what i thought, well turnys out it really is that good!!! anyway u can take a look at it, I am so buying this baby!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I wasnt specific enough, I meant electrical conductivity (like would it short my cards if I leave it alone) and is it safe to try to get it off of those tiny caps with alcohol, that and I'm afraid to put pressure on the caps, they look so easy to break and ive been having awful luck with hardware lol
