Are you trying to run a RAID array? If not, use AHCI.

It didn't need them before, Intel RAID drivers are built into Vista.

Did you INSTALL to the RAID array or did you turn on RAID after you installed Windoze?

Windows is installed on my single Samsung Spinpoint F1 and i use my RAID1 array to hold data.

I could not turn on my RAID1 array before installing Windows as setting SATA to RAID meant that i got the dreaded "boot media" error. So, i turned it back to IDE and installed Windows.

I then tried to turn it on again (through the BIOS) by setting SATA to RAID, but again, same error. So, started overclocking and now i can't even boot to my Samsung Windows drive using any settings. I just always get the "boot media" error. Although, i have the ability to reinstall Windows... but quite frankly, i shouldn't have to...

If you're going to run RAID then you have to set SATA to RAID when you install Windows. (And give it the RAID driver, like I said.) Sorry, that's the way it is.
