Hi,im in desperate need for a new mobo.

i get around 100-150 bucks for christmas so im thinkin heres my chance.

i got a nvidia gfx card, and im unsure about sli in the future but its likely.

i need an amazing oc board. so i been looking at the EVGA 750i SLI and the Asus P5Q-E P45.

i know the asus doesnt have sli.

suggestions on witch one i will most likely prefer? thanks.

(these are my only 2 choices in my budget unless cheaper ones that are just as good @ www.memoryexpress.com)

Amazing OC and SLi do not really go together. In all honesty, I would advise anyone to go with a better single card setup rather than a dual card setup (more power required, unnecessary unless gaming on at 2560*1600). If you really want SLi that badly, go with the 750i or 780i.

I would go for a P45 board, or an X38/48 (If you can find one cheap or used). Most of them are good, same with the P45 you listed. From what I've heard, they OC quads quite nicely.

ok if i went with a p45 mobo, i would probably sell my gtx 280 and buy a 4870 then later on pair it with another 4870...

The GA-EP45-UD3P would be the best motherboard for your money. It's very affordable, high quality with all-solid capacitors, supports x8 x8 crossfire, and is an insane overclocker.

Ya I used to have a evga 680i becuase I thought I wanted to sli, but trying to OC my Q6600 was a PITA I couldnt OC it past 3.1 Ghz. I then saw the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P and bought it. Almost effortlessly I got my cpu to 4 ghz. Its awesome for the price. Sure I cant sli, but 4Ghz>sli cards IMO
