Teaching E6320 To Fly!

Thread Starter
I've had an E6320 for about a year now and as my specs say its overclocked at 3.22Ghz. I was wondering because I want to do a tiny little upgrade would it be a good idea to buy some OCZ Reaper HPC 4gb of RAM @ 1066Mhz and see if I can push my E6320 more? I think the bottleneck is my Corsair XMS 800Mhz that I want to replace with the 1066Mhz Ram. After rebates the OCZ is about $40, but does any body have a slight idea of how much more that 1066Mhz memory will push my E6320? Most overclocking articles I saw online used either 667Mhz or 800Mhz RAM. I'm sure my Zalman cooler will keep things nice and cool so no worries in temp. Perhaps maybe push my voltage to 1.40 as well? Thanks.

Yes better memory would probably take it higher, but those OCZ Reapers are a little overrated. I haven't really done much research in 2 x 2GB sets as they overclock a lot less well then 2 x 1GB sets.

You can probably take that E6320 to somewhere around 3.6Ghz but your looking at 1.5v cpu vcore and a NB vcore of at least 1.45v. And that Zalman cooler isn't that great, but I hope it can take it...

You should be able to clock that little CPU into the 3.6-3.8ghz range..cant comment on your temps with that cooler though. You will most likely be running a vcore of 1.42v or higher though...

*I have built one client rig, using a P5K vanilla and a E6320, it runs for daily use at 3.4ghz on air.. 1.38vcore under load...using a Tuniq Tower.
