An opportunity has come along for me to make an upgrade:
-Pay $50 more and get a 4870 X2, trading my 4870 512MB to another guy
-Get another 4870 512MB and CF and pocket $50.
-Pocket $200 and switch to a 4870 1GB
-pocket $240 or buy a Canon SD880 IS Digicam

My res. is 1920x1080 and am using a Q6600 @ 3.2. Do I even need a 4870 X2?

Spend the 50$ to get a 4870x2.

Yes, you need a snazzy card for a 1080p res. The X2 would be puuuuuuurfect.

The x2 does performe verry well at that res, I just tested it out myself with Crysis Warhead on a 42" 1920*1080 at all enthusiest settings with 4xaa and was averageing 25fps, did better then on my 22" at 1680*1050 wich was around 15fps. But if you are happy with how everything is playing now, I say save the $240 and get the camera you like, can always add another 4870 later as they lowered the price on them.
