Well this is a really begginer question but where do I write the program? I just need to know the programs I need to start up at c++ programing. Any help would be great! Thankyou

Microsoft C++ express would work perfectly.

I use the visual studios for as much as I can, Gedit in Xubuntu for everything else.

But to learn the most, go to a college or university that does the classes. Buy a textbook or two from the bookstore. I still use them, and am self taught

Umm... personally I use linux for any C/C++ projects I use, so GNU gcc or g++ (gcc with all the c++ stuff automatically enabled) along with gvim as a text editor (vim with a gui)

When you mess up a program, gcc seems a lot better about telling you where you went wrong, so finding errors doesn't take as long in most cases (that's my opinion though)

That's it.

EDIT: I realize this is 3 days old, but it doesn't hurt to add some variety

I agree with the post. Since your avatar is powered by Ubuntu you'll need that stuff instead of the Microsoft one.
