Urgent help plz about cpu volts!!

Thread Starter
I am having trouble understanding vcore volts on my p6n diamond board. When i went into the cell menu and changed cpu vcore to 1.825v or so i see 1.44v in cpu z, hardware monitor, everest ultimate and also hardware monitoring in the motehrboard bios. Should i take it that if i set the vcore voltage to 1.825v in the cell menu, it is not really 1.825v but actually 1.44v as in the voltage that i see people using to overclock their cpu?

if you have incredible vdroop. But I dont think that you are setting the same voltage. I have NEVER seen that large of a drop. PS- I WOULD NEVER go over 1.6v on your cpu. 1.5 is pushing it IMHO

Here is a link to help you on your overclock with this board @msi.

That is a lot of Vdroop, but the higher you get, the more you'll get. 1.56v in BIOS nets me 1.44v under load in CPU-Z. I agree though, I've never seen a droop as high as you say.

So is it safe to take it that all these temps monitoring stuff are correct and it is actuall not at 1.825v? I have been trying to overclock past 3.15 along time now but it would restart after 25mins or so on prime 95. What is vdrop and what causes it?

No it's not actually 1.825v. If it was your temps would be off the charts and your motherboard would probably be smoking by now. Do you have the latest BIOS update on your board?

As long as your temps are safe and CPU-Z says 1.44v, you are fine. Your particular motherboard might just be flawed.
