Spend $30 more on the E5200, unless you an on an EXTREMELY tight budget.

I love my low end intel chip!!! I need to put it back at 3.2 now that it is 100% stable..temps dropped after the AS5 cured and I want to play with it some more. I spent only $140 on my mobo + cpu and I couldn't be happier with the performance. I really wanted a 7200 when I bought; but I think I'll be upgrading to a quad core when programs take full advantage of all the cores someday.

I would definitely go for the 5200, that is your bang-for-the-buck chip today.

Yeah, I love my E5200. Some people told me to get the E7300 because it's not much more, but I think $50 is a lot for something that is only slightly better.

E1400 stock has pretty much replaced the E1200 stock in Canada it seems

Not a bad thing though, I guess. The higher multi should be handy in OC-ing

i had a e1200 for a couple of months and it hit 3.2 just fine and stayed cool. the low cache was the only killer in benches. but i must say it worked great and played games well paired with a 9600gt and 2 gigs of ram

What is the multi on the E1400? I'm just curious.

Update: OP updated with CPU-Z Validation (also now in sig) and screenshots. Enjoy my !

Nice! I'd probably get something like that with my sig rig right now. But I honestly hate benching, there's no excitement in it for me.
