[GP]Did Windows Vista Damage The PC Gaming Platform? - Page 5

Two things...

Currently Vista and xp perform exactly the same in games... end of story.. Vista now is even sometimes better(we are also starting to see the beginning of dx10 performance(see farcry2))

I think it boils down to a couple things..
XP lasting way too long and it being the only thing a large majority of what the new computer using crowd know
The second reason is the "new" computer crowd.. Over the last 5 or so years I am sure computer users have grown exponentially. With this crowd came a lot of "know it alls" and they hear "vista is bad" and they insist on telling everyone.

There is a lot of ignorant people in this world.. Always have been.. Just now they are using computers a lot more then before.. -_-

How could it? All it did was introduce DX10 and has equal performance in games.

I personally love Vista (Dual booted into Vista and COMPLETELY forgot about XP) and DX10 (20% higher FPS in Crysis in Vista WOOT)!

It's just like some of the "gamers" I hear talking that barely know what a graphics card is that call a game cr*p because it lags. I take one look at their hardware and I say "there's your problem" and they say "what's my problem" and I reply, your whole computer dude, go get a console...

And btw, I never had an operating system past Windows 2000 BSoD, only time since Windows 2000 was in Vista when one of my ram sticks popped off a bit.

i think it has more to do with games just not being completed and/or poorly optimized. Vista is perfectly fine since SP1.

i call BS!!......

if your games are running better on XP then your rig needs upgrading, vista is a SUPER gamer & DX10 only adds to its performance.

i hope everyone's not basing they're lac of performance souly on the loss of a few 3dmark points..??

im an avid gamer & have yet to find a game that wont run, or runs like crap..

sigh:... its always easier to blame the OS than stick your hand in your pocket for newer H/W.
