need a bit of overclocking help

Thread Starter
Hi I recently got a core i7 920 and i have begun overclocking it. I have been trying for 4ghz all day but it wont budge. Currently i have it set to 3.9ghz @ 1.4v, QPI is set to 1.52v. My BCLK is set to 195. I set my mem multiplier to 6.0 so my memory is set to 1170mhz due to the multiplier being set to 6. QPI is set to x36. All power saving and boosting options are disabled. I run orthos sp2004 in 4 windows, setting 2 threads to each one to maximise the stress. At 3.9ghz and at settings set above, this runs fine for about 30minutes but then i recieve a blue screen. I've tried increasing voltage for both memory and cpu but same thing seems to happen. Not really sure what to try next, jsut looking for some suggestions. Thanks.

well it seems that overclocking a Ci7 is a little different to the old style but i would not recommend putting you volts up and more.

But what voltage are you running through your NB?
