I own HD555's now and use them everyday... I have no complaints. They are comfy, I don't have to take them off to rest my ears. Don't know about the ars technica.

AD-700 I think there more for gaming then the senns. i recently just bought new headphones. The RVC HARX900 they got really good reviews and there not that expensive.

i have had both. the audio technicas are the better choice in everything but durability. those metal earcups dent very ez! but they reach lower and higher in the audio spectrum by a noticable amount than the hd555

HD555, it's the staple of gaming/positioning headphones. Extremely comfortable.

HD555 provides a much more natural feel. It's smoother and a little bit more laid back than the AD700, and the soundstage is more consistant and accurate with its imaging than the AD700's.

The AD700 is a good headphone, the HD555 is better, at least IMO.

I am hoping the HD555's are as good as everyone says....UPS should be delivering mine today around 4pm.

If you go for the audio techincas I would try and get A700, I like closed headphones better than open but I guess its personal preference. I haven't ever heard the 555's though.

The AD700s are a pretty big improvement on the A700s, sound-wise.
