computer overhaul

Thread Starter
okies i think its about time i did a major overhaul on my computer

my current specs are in the sig

im thinking of doing the following updates

processor E-8400 or Q6600 or ?
motherboard ??? (if i go for Q6600,my current mobo can support it i think)
PSU i think current 1 should suffice or should i upgrade?
GFX i am wondering if i should get a better gfx or should i sli 8800gt?

please keep in mind, what ever processor i buy i plan to overclock it. also i think that my cooler is kinda decent and should be able to let me overclock the proccessor quite a bit.

so please go ahead and let the suggestion roll
oh yeah, i mainly want this pc for gaming and i dont wanna be looking to make any upgrades after this for quite some time.. so please keep that in mind

Get the e8400, and go SLI. You could get a new card, but going SLI will save you some money and get the same perfomance boost.

I say get an E8400 and a new mobo (but if you do get a new mobo, your OEM Vista will become invalid)

thanks for your suggestions.
may i ask as to why it is that a E8400 would be better that Q6600 ? any reason besides that e8400 is 45nm and q6600 is 65nm?

err no no .. that is not an oem vista.. that is vista home premium... we call it HP for short ..

btw please suggest good mobo that i can use. that will be compatible with the e8400 and i can use for overclocking and that will be future proof xD

If you aren't going to go SLI, the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P is the best mobo. Affordable, overclocks like crazy, and a high-quality board.

I meant that most copies of Vista are sold as OEM, so they can only be installed on one mobo. Unless you paid extra for retail (which are usually boxed).
I don't know what mobos you will be able to find in india, but the ASUS P5Q series of boards are great.
Or any of these Gigagbytes-

If you absolutely have to have SLi, then the evga 750i FTW edition is the best IMO. But it is a tad pricey.
