I can't hit 1000 and cannot get 5-5-5-15 with this RAM. even going to 2.3v from the stock 2.1 they recommend. All G-skill is binned in a way that it does not overclock. if it does. it's sold for the higher speed. so you usually get NO overclock with G-skill and I know that. as I can't even get close.
G SKill factory overclocks its RAM. Thats why they wont OC very high. However I do have the G Skill PQ DDR2 1000 kit as well and I was able to run them at 1066mhz (fairly easliy) on 5-5-5-15 timings. The Dominator Kit is supposed to be an awesome kit. I ordered a set, but it didnt work well with my motherboard so I returned them for the Mushkin Redlines I am currently using now. I am able to run 5-5-5-12 at 1066 with this kit and they have been great so far.

Since I have had all 3 brands you are choosing from, any of them would work out well. From Corsair, go with the DOminators, if you go Mushkin, the Redlines are good and so is the Ascent. From G SKill, the DDR2 1066 PI series is great and so are the G Skill DDR2 1066 PK's. Any of the 3 brands should suit you well

I like the Pi 1066 kit. Right now they are $69.99. My 2 sets (2 sets of 4Gb) run at 1.8v with tRFC of 45, tRD of 6 and 1058 5-5-5-12 independent of each other. Togther (4x2Gb) they run on only 1.94v vdimm. I got them to 1088 without too much tweaking.

But I have personally had a bad experience with the 1000 kit. I could never get them to run at their rated speed.

For the reasons spacegoast and ericeod noted above. RAM that won't run at its rated speed and timings?

What I pointed out was that my G Skill PQ 1000 kit was oc'd to 1066. Eric had a bad experience with his 1000 kit. I guess you could say RAM is like CPU in that no 2 chips are the same. I have nothing but good commenets for G Skill on the PK (DDR2 1066) and PQ (DDR2 1000)kits that I have right now. I had to RMA my 1000 kit though becasue one stick died (after 1 year) so I have a brand new set of those and the PK's are just sitting in a box.

Sure, no two are the same. I can even tell a slight difference between the two pairs of supposedly identical Mushkin RAM I have. But I prefer to not ever have to find out how a given company is with RMAs. Which is what led me to choose Mushkin in the first place. (Now the 5 month delay on mail in rebates, that's another story...)

Surprisingly, G SKill got me a new kit in a weeks time. I was worried though when I didnt get any confirmation that they recieved it but they sent replacements in under a week. Pretty good if you ask me.
Sorry, off topic here.

OP, I think those kits should perform similarly. I cant say which one is better though.
