Any thoughts on Samsung Plasmas?

My 37" Polaroid (eww) LCD took a crap, so Circuit City is refunding my money (apparently, the TV is now only worth $699). So, I've taken that cash and picked up a Samsung 42" Plasma

This one to be exact:

It should be delivered here in about a week or so. Does anyone here have this TV, or just a Samsung plasma in general? I did some light research and the reviews were positive for the most part. I just kind of wanted to know if anyone here (people who are actually tech savvy) have one and what their thoughts on it are.

I have a 50" Samsung Plasma and I love it. When I first went out to buy a new tv I was going to get a LCD but after seeing the picture and color clarity I decided to go with the Plasma. I play video games on it and have it hooked up to a HTPC. I have notices some image retention a few times after playing games for a long period of time, but the tv had a sort of burn in eraser that runs a black and white bar across the screen. So far that has worked perfect and I have no burn in.

Yeah, I read that it has three different ways to get rid of the burn in. One guy said there is an "all white" mode that sort of washes the screen. I was glad to hear that since I play a lot of Madden and Rock Band.

I was just having trouble finding a decent television for the cash that I had, and this sounded like a great deal. I checked it out at my local Best Buy and it looked pretty good, but I don't really count that too much since its not really ideal viewing circumstances.

My bro and parents have one. It's very good at upscaling SD sources (Cable TV / DVD's) as it's native res is 1024 x 768. PS3 looks sweet on it too.

They haven't had any problems with it in the 5 months since purchased.

I'd say you'll be more than happy with it .

My tv has the all white wash like you said and the black to white scroll. I like watching the black to white because you can watch it kind of erase the burn in. My wife freaked out the first time we saw it and i was pretty nervous until i ran the burn in remover. In the end, I'm total happy with it and would buy a plasma again. It doesn't get any better when watching HD.
