Should I get a Q6600? Really?

Thread Starter
This sunday i'm doing 400 bucks worth of Christmas shopping and 200 of it is already going to a RockBand and X360 bundle. So I was thinking to get a Q6600...but also thinking to get a monitor, but then I figured 1280 was a decent res so then I thought about speakers, but I have 4.2 sound, so..What should I do?...I'll be going to Microcenter to get this stuff...

Don't buy new Q6600's unless you're not OCing, the new ones are reported to suck bad.

His 650i board wouldn't be good for OCing regardless.

Save your money and stay away from Micro Center. Why pay extra money AND tax?

you "think" your resolution is nice until you see a 22"/24" screen I'm sorry but there is a huge difference lol.

What's the characteristics of a "bad" Q6600 with G0 stepping? Is it a higher VID? I've had mine for a year now and it's VID is 1.2750v but I run 3.0Ghz stable at 1.232v

I keep hearing references that at some point in the last six months ago another batch came out that was sub-par but I've not found anything concrete listing what or why...
