Thermalright Ultra Extreme tilting?

Thread Starter
Hello guys, it's been 3 days since my new machine is up and running. Today I opened the case to connect my new hard drive. I glanced at the HSF - Thermalright ultra extreme, and I think it has tilted to the right a very tiny bit. I remember that when I first installed it I made sure it was at 90 degrees.
There's no chance it's lose as I tightened the screws as far as I could, do you guys think it's possible that the HSF has tilted? If so, is that a big problem?

It's only a big problem if the cause of the tilt is that the motherboard itself is bending.

But the other possible effect of this problem (if the cause is loose screws) is that your cooler isn't making positive contact with the processor, which would result in significant;y higher temps.

Have you noticed any change in your temperatures?

Just have a close look and see if you can notice any bends in your MB. If not, I don't think you're having any significant issues.

look up the grommet or washer mod, this will solve your problems

Nope, it was not quite possible, once they got to certain point, FULL LOCK and I couldn't go any futher. Is there a way of checking if motherboard is bent without taking it out of the case?

Is it like 2 degrees in your house, or do you live in an igloo?

no, just 10 fans in my case! Idle temps may be incorrect but load ones are ok.

It is impossible with air cooling to acchieve idle temps lower than ambient (your room)

-FilluX

EDIT: Check temps from the BIOS, or core temp.
