SSD Problem

Thread Starter
I am running a patriot warp SSD, and having serious stuttering issues IN-GAME of left4dead. I am fine in world of warcraft, but in left4dead the game pauses for 2-3 seconds periodically. I'm sure this is the SSD's fault because it was working fine on the same hardware before I switched to the SSD. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this problem? I have my pagefile on a ramdrive, and lots of tweaks enabled to help prevent issues with XP that were reccommended by OCZ (ssd manuf.), yet I have the problem...?

this is a common problem among solid state drives running through your motherboard. Some of the latest drivers may be able to fix the stuttering, but your best bet is to buy a raid controller card. The lowest price for a decent card is about 200 usd. Yeah, that a lot of money to fix a problem for a hdd that costs 100 usd. However, if you every plan to run a raid, i would highly recommend getting a raid controller due to a huge increase of performance.

So, in short... If you want to fix the problem without spending money, try updating your drivers. If that doesn't work, you now see the problem with the current solid state drives.

The new drives come out soon which will fix this stuttering problem.
