Raid 1 on Asus A8N32-sli Deluxe

Thread Starter
I have an SATA WD 74 gb Raptor main drive on my Asus A8N32 mb and works good, but now I want to mirror 2 drives for security, and use them as my boot drives, taking the data off the 74 mb and onto the mirror. The A8N32 mb says it has raid built in, but I'm a bit nervous about trying to set it up, I just can't lose the data on my current boot drive.
How do I start? Anyone know about setting up raid 1 on this board?
A few pointers would surely help me out.
TIA

In order to build a RAID array it will wipe the drive clean. You'll need to back up your data first. The Asus manual has a good explanation of how to set up RAID on that board if I remember right. Asus has the best manuals for RAID I've found so far.

you need to reinstall windows and while doing that you need to hammer some random key while windows install is loading to install raid drivers (you need to make a floppy from your motherboard cd). then in the "format hard driver" area in the install you can make them into raid 1. have fun trying. i always wanted to do that. also, if you have vista (which i see you don't) you have no need to install drivers).

Aww man, I'd hoped you would give me something other than that owners manual. It sux, very sketchy on details. Maybe I just be dumb, but I could glean very litttle from what was in it. I'll look it over again, sigh!
