BTW, it also set a world record with DDR2 ram recently.

Check out my guide for the board once you get it. We have a number of members posting excellent advice and results.
Yeah I heard about the DDR2 record! That's amazing.

BTW How is the crossfire performance on the board? If I were to go 2X 4850 for example, would I see performance losses compared to a dual PCIe X16 CF board?

I think that it has to do with the pwm and nb cooling. It makes up for the rest of the funny colors. On the other hand, I couldn't stand how my ds3l looks.

I tried to do the all blue thing, but on my dads computer. I was trying to get the cheapest video card that I can find, but it had to be blue. I think I went with an hd3450 from sapphire for like $25.

That vdroop is bad but I think mine is worse. Yesterday I tried for 3.7ghz, set vcore to 1.6 in bios. Under load in windows it dropped to 1.50v
For some reason I like the tackiness of gigabyte boards. Way better than my ugly thing sitting in there now.

Yes but, on your DS3L, you can vdroop mod it very easily. I found one pencil/vdroop mod for my board, I don't have the soldering iron nor the skills to perform the hardmod. The pencil mod didn't work for me at all either.

I'm a recent convert to s775 (AMD guy for years)... I went with the UD3P too.

You made the right choice!

You won't see a performance hit with 4850's installed and another forum member says there was not much of a performace difference when running 4870's in CF. The only cards that you would have a issue with is the 4870x2's or 4850x2's.

The board looks much cooler in person then one might think.

You did make the right choice! This board is amazing!

Yes you will see a performance hit, anywhere from 5-15FPS slower compared to fullX16 slots depending on resolution and AA. swap through the games you are interested in on that review.

Thanks for the info on the CF! It's appreciated.

Congrats on your 900th!

If you read through that whole review there are only a couple of games that show a performance hit and they are at super high resolutions. If your like most of us then your not running a 30" LCD. 22" and under you won't see much of a hit.

Here is another review with a number of cards even though they are now older cards.

Here is a review comparing PCI-e 1.0 to PCI-e 2.0.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ss,1761-5.html

Are you going to run multiple monitors?

Have the same OC abilities and possibilities ( for Q9550 ) the following GigaByte models ?
GigaByte GA-EP45-UD3L
GigaByte GA-EP45-UD3P
GigaByte GA-EP45-UD3R
GA-EP45T-UD3LR

I ask because I'm not interesting for two Lans and crossfire.

.......... 1280x1024 is smaller then 90% of us run and you can clearly see a fat performance hit. and these cards are actually HD4850 crossfire aka exactly what he wants to run. accept it, X8 slots bottleneck even mid range cards. the links you provided are much slower cards.
