run intel burn test, it lets you know if the cpu is completely stable in just about 8-10 mins as opposed to 40 hours on prime

its the most stressful test on any intel cpu i can guarantee that.

Ya, Intel Burn Test is great.

But you have to run OCCT anyway for overall system check.

I'll give reputation for both of you, because I was looking for the stress test, that no needed to run 100 hours to make sure your CPU is stable.

So, you have a good chip.
Cheers for happy overclocking. I think you can hit 3.16GHz at 1.175v.

CPU cooling maybe or is it other parameters?

Tks

FSB = 333 MHz
Multi = 9.5

vCore = 1.175v [Set it manually from the BIOS]
If still its not stable, increase the voltage by a notch. It should do the trick. Then run Intel Burn Test for 10 loops. If the max temperature crosses 65c, revert to current voltage and FSB.

Aftermarket coolers are always good for overclocking. But I'm running at 3.16GHz without aftermarket cooler without any problem. I'm planning to get one soon though.

So, I can say that as long as you stay below 65c, you can overclock to 3.16GHz.
