Air cooling will be interesting, I wonder how many of the previous air oc's are reliable. If they are as reputable as some have claimed, we should definitely see 3.8-4.0ghz on air.

I think the 4.9ghz has a lot to do with the board and individual parts.

Anyways.....who cares if it "Only hit 4.9ghz" that is still outstanding especially for a AMD Quad.

Maybe it can do 6.3ghz with the right parts....One version of it has..on video

there are alot of us with AMD's that have never even come close to 3.6ghz (Let alone 4.0ghz)...and if the Price rumors are true Phenom II 940 @ $275.00 or close to that.....It will be a success.

Looks like I will be adding a new breed to the fleet lol.

Does not mean that its max is 5ghz, as reports of 6ghz have been mentioned. Might have been the mobo, who knows. But TH are pretty experienced, and I'm sure they'll post results when they do a full review. In either case, I'm sure we'll see some air oc's soon, maybe they had too much ln2 to play with?
It very well could have been the guy doing the OC'ing. I think they could have taken their time and really worked at the OC. Seems like a rush job to me.

I wouldn't buy into TH's words just yet. It isn't the first time that they draw early conclusion on a certain product and proceed to post false judgment. One that I remembered well was when they OC'ed a set of the GeIL Ultra review sample 17Mhz or so higher than a retail kit and wrongfully accused them of sending out cherry-picked chips to reviewers. That started quite a storm back then and TH received numerous flames from the enthusiast community and a few reviewers as well. TH later openly published a statement to apologize to GeIL and the users.

Not saying this is the same case or even similar. But, only take it with a grain of salt. We'll see when the actual retail chips are in OUR hands.
