Monitor Poblems

Hi, I have 2 monitors and am running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit and have a Radeon HD 2900PRO 1GB:

24" Gateway FPD2485Q TFT LCD Monitor
22" Proview (some basic one for my secondary)

Okay, out of nowhere my monitors started flashing and almost like glitching out, i had to shut it down and restart it. But even after restarting it it was still doing the same thing. But then just like it all of a sudden started it stopped. So i restart my computer once more. when I log in some of my programs didn't start and my second monitor was all weird, the windows got pushed around and way up from their normal locations.

I leave for a bit and when I come home I restart it once more. This time my main monitor doesn't turn on but my secondary one does. Once logged in I go to display settings and see that only one monitor is enabled. I'm like, "okay that's weird" but go an enable it. I check the box to "Extend the Desktop onto this Monitor" box and click Apply. the screen flashes like it should and it asks me if I want to keep these changes. I say yes and then the box comes unchecked again!?

I've tried multiple drivers and combinations of plugging the monitors in restarting and stuff. Now here's the weird thing. When I unplug my 22" and plug my 24" into the same port, a picture shows up on it. BUT I can not switch the resolution from 1680x1050 to 1920x1200. Also, if I restart, with the monitor plugged in while it has a picture, when the boot screen comes up or anything after there is no picture. but when I plug the 22" back in there is.

This is a very complicated problem that just came out of no where and I have no idea why. I never changed anything and I was just browsing the web when the screens started flashing. Actually reading a tutorial so I know it was anything that got into my computer. Plus I've never had a virus in the past 2 years of having this PC. Anyone that can help me with this is more than welcome to ask whatever questions they need to. I just want to get both my monitors working again! ='( Thank you to everyone who puts forth effort in helping me solve this problem.

Well, I would say try newer/older drivers but it seems you have done that and with no success. Do you have another card to try? Slight chance it may be the card, but I dont know if it would do that kind of stuff or just flat out die on you.

Okay so call me a retard and let me enjoy my facepalm...

Looks like i check everything except...

For some reason...

The DVI plug somehow came unscrewed from the monitor, even though I have never even thought of disconnecting that so I never would have thought it was loose in the first place. Guess this goes to show never even skip over even the most simple steps cause you never know what might happen.
