From the looks of it, they both have different chipsets. Which old OS disc are we talking about tho??? Can I download it somehwere and put it on a disk. Unless we are talking about the Windows XP Pro cd

Oh by the way, you can't be a noobie with a rig that old!!! Just kidding.
lol I have been on a computer since I was 5 years old (im 20 now). I have been learning AutoCAD for about 16 months now. But as far as whats inside the computer.......well im still learning

One thing I dont understand is I know what RAM does, but what does a faster processor do??? How would that be better between the two?? Also how can I find out what other goodies his computer has without having it working right now. Like video card and such. I just want the best 1 of the 2 computers.

His PC is probably better than yours all-around. It is at least 2 years newer I'm sure. Just use his and make sure to dispose of yours at a proper electronics recycling center. There are a lot of things in there that are bad even for a landfill.

Ok well I will get a new hard drive for the computer and install XP Pro. But still I wonder, why would it do this even before I did anything to the computer. I mean I relize after switching the HD to the other computer and back different chipsets could cause this. But when his computer had the hard drive in the computer it did this aswell (before I switched it out). He said it popped up a blue screen but idk if it was the same one.

I'm not sure, but try the windows repair installation by the CD-ROM.
