Greg009, perhaps this Phenom overclocking guide may be of some assistance to you: http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/28...ing-guide.html. I'd advice staying away from software overclocking. Issues such as data corruption and even sometimes hardware failure can occur.

Greg009, these voltages shouldn't be the same. I believe the default voltage for your Northbridge should be 1.10 volts. I'm looking in your manual now and I don't see anything related to, "cpu nb core voltage". Are you able to take any shots of your BIOS and post them up?

Good luck

Ok everytime i change a setting in my bios my pc shuts off and turns itself on and it wont go into windows unless i press the reset switch on my case. Any minor OC settings in my bios wont go through on booting to windows. Here are some pictures.

Greg009, is the computer turning off right away when a change has been made or are you making changes, saving and then having the problems? It's ok if you're running DDR2 800 on a DDR2 1066 motherboard.

What changes are you making in your BIOS? Have you checked out that guide I posted above? I'd recommend having a look at it to see if that helps. If this is your first time overclocking then there is much to learn

Let us know

Good luck

Greg009, what exactly in the BIOS are you changing? Are you making voltage changes? Changes to the HTT (reference clock)? Make sure you also adjust your memory frequency accordingly so that it does not cause any conflicts with your processor overclock. Try put it on a lower divider. When you start raising the reference clock the memory frequency is also increased and this can sometimes cause stability issues.

Greg, I'm not entirely sure what average overclocks are on the Diamond 4870. Perhaps the core clock is already at it's limit? Try posting up your question in the ATI section. The experts in there will probably be able to help you.

Good luck
