And when it turns out to cost 7500$ each it will be great bang for the buck! =P

Don't be in denial now. It will likely cost 550$. I think many people don't mind a little more for the Nvidia name and improved performance. And there's more to any card than just performance. I sold my 4870 because it simply kept crashing on different games because of a driver error that no one knew how to fix. Went from 8800GT SLI to sig card and never had a single driver problem.

Bad news for you... yes it IS 2 260s SLIed together... just at 55nm.

The performance looks okay though. Now, I wonder how much it'll cost, and then how low the 4870x2 price will drop. The question will be how much is the small performance gain of nVida's "Cassette Tape" card really worth?

$550 probably a month after release. every single other nvidia GX2-like card has always been insanely priced at launch only to come down to a normal price in about 3 weeks to a month

what does name have to do with anything? to me, whatever is working at the time im buying usually suffices. in the past, i just use what ever is working...my original card was an x300, then a 6800XT, then a x1950 pro (only because the 6800XT shorted due to my problem), then 3870 (gave x1950 to mom) and now i have a laptop. for most people, name doesnt matter much unless they are hardcore fanboy

By 'name' I meant everything that the Nvidia name brings, ie (PERSONAL OPINION WARNING) support, drivers, etc. I tend to prefer the support for warranty's on Nvidia's partners and the stability and quick fixes of their drivers. I have only one Nvidia card, all the others are from ATI: X800XT, 1300X, HD2600, HD2900. I had problems with the 2900, and for a little while with the 2600 but new drivers seem to have fixed it.

Lol @ your avatar

Probably the hottest card ever made I think... not counting some obscure server card or something.

But I think nVidia has learned from the GX2 days that people don't like hot sandwiches. The heatsink is most likely pretty expensive. But still, I wish they just stuck two HR-03s on the top and bottom of that to make it take up 6 slots lol.

lol that would be hilarious. tbh im kinda surprised they are keeping the sandwich design. they are probably thinking "if its not broken dont fix it" but it is broken and needs fixing =.=
