You can do it if you build a bong.

It is not 300 minimum to beat an air cooled computer. As DirtyDuck said (twice), you could build a bong cooler. Nobody even acknowledged his post.
It amazes me how people will ignore a solution that is right in front of them. A bong can be built for less than the $130 that was quoted which will keep your cpu cooler than any radiator. Yet when it is mentioned people simply ignore it. Is it because it is a diy solution and not something that comes in a kit? Is it because it 'does not look cool and 'l337? Perhaps it is because it requires a little bit of maintenance every couple months. Bah, who cares.

yeah your right so was dirtyduck but I dont have to much knowledge in that, I think we were talking about typical kits with rad since the OP was going with a Thermaltake kit.

Very informative thread. I just built my system and is thinking about upgrading in the next couple of months as the E8400s should start to drop in price come this new year. I think I had the exact same question as the OP: would a cheap water system (that doesn't invovle too much DIY, I acknowledge the bong, lol) reliably and consistently beat a high-end air system? And the answer seems to be no.
