Learning Windows is inevitable... we don't need our public school system to teach us how to use Microsoft's operating systems.
Microsoft has such a complete lack of regard for open standards, it's dumbfounding. Plus - what basic computer skills can you gain from Windows that you can't gain from Linux? And which of these skills will actually apply to any future Windows releases? I guess we can always count on the Start button...
Most people are turned away from Linux simply because they don't want to be challenged. Isn't it the job of our educational system to challenge the children anyway?
I agree. There should be no windows classes. They should be Linux classes. What do you need to learn in windows? Windows is all about clicking on pictures. If you can't do that, you shouldn't be behind a keyboard.
My high school's "computer class" is embarrassing. In "advanced computing" class, students learn how to use word and excel and powerpoint. If you think I'm lying, I'm sorry to disappoint you.
